The Flying Pig Farm has been owned and operated by the Brad Thornton family in Idaho since 1983. It began in Kuna, Idaho with two bred Yorkshire gilts. The farm expanded and moved to Star, Idaho in 1986, where after 17 years the subdivisions started getting closer and pizza could be delivered to the house, both signs that it was time to move again. In 2003 we moved our family, home, pigs and farm to its’ present location south of Kuna. Our four children have all worked on the farm and enjoyed showing their 4H and FFA “show pig” projects at the local fairs.
Our goal is to bring the very best tasting pork (Kurobuta pork) to the Idaho Treasure Valley by using the highest quality feeds and breeding stock: Berkshire, Duroc and Yorkshire boars and sows; artificial insemination is also used to provide pure-bred stock, show pigs and high quality market hogs. The pigs we sell are raised from birth to market on our farm right here in the Treasure Valley.
You may purchase your market hog right from the farm or we’ll gladly make arrangements to deliver it to a local butcher.
